Kelleys Engineering Works

We've been in this shed in the NIT Industrial Area for a while now. It's dusty, but it's where the work gets done. My dad started things here, and now we just keep the machines running. We do mostly metal parts and repairs for whoever walks in or calls. It’s not fancy. There’s a lot of grease on the floor and the noise from the lathe is constant. Some days are busier than others. When the power goes out, we just sit outside for a bit. We're at 24 B 6, right in the middle of the cluster. People know us by the sign that's peeling a little. We don't have a big office or anything, just a desk with too many papers. We handle the engineering stuff that the bigger plants don't want to mess with. It's honest work. If a part breaks, we try to fix it or make a new one. That's about it. We’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years, more trucks now. But the shop stays the same. We like it that way. Just regular guys working with steel. If you pass by the industrial area, you’ll see our gate. It stays open most of the day unless it’s raining really hard. We just keep our heads down and focus on the lathes and milling. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just find us or they don't.
