Kaka Restaurant and Outdoor Caterers has been part of the landscape for a while. We do the sit-down stuff in the restaurant and also take the food out to where people are having their parties. It gets loud in here, especially when the kitchen is at full tilt and the tables are full. You can hear the pans hitting the burners and the staff calling out orders. We don’t really do anything too complicated, just the food people expect. When we do outdoor catering, it’s a whole different kind of energy. We have to pack up the stoves, the big serving dishes, and all the cutlery. It’s a lot to keep track of. Sometimes things get forgotten in the rush, like a box of spoons or some extra napkins, so we have to be careful. The restaurant part is more predictable, with the same regulars coming in. We see the same faces every week, which is nice. We just try to keep the place clean and the food hot. It’s hard work being on your feet all day, but we are used to it by now. The kitchen gets hot, especially in the summer months here, but we just keep the fans going and get through the shift. That’s pretty much our life here. We don't have a specific street address written down on all our signs, everyone just knows the name Kaka and where we are located. We just keep serving whoever walks through the door or calls us up.
