Jyoti Machine Tools

Our place is at 2060/9 on the Narela Bawana Road. It’s a busy stretch of road with a lot of trucks and industrial activity happening all day. Jyoti Machine Tools has been here for a good while, serving the small factories and workshops that dot this part of Delhi. The shop is basically a large room filled with heavy machinery and spare parts. It’s loud because of the traffic outside and the machines inside, so we usually have to shout to be heard. We don't have any air conditioning, just the natural breeze if the wind is blowing the right way through the door. Most of our day is spent cleaning off rust or showing someone how to operate a piece of equipment they just bought. It’s not a fancy place by any means. There’s a small desk in the corner where we keep the ledger and the bills, mostly covered in coffee rings and fingerprints. We know most of our customers by their first names because they’ve been coming to us for a decade or more. We don't bother with fancy displays or bright lights. If the machine works, that’s all that matters to us and our customers. It’s a tough environment but we’re used to it. Every day is pretty much the same, and we’re fine with that. We just do the work and go home to our families.
