Jmd Telecom is right on the busy Neelam Bata Road at number 49 in the NIT area of Faridabad. Being on such a main road means we see thousands of cars and bikes go by every day. It’s a prime spot but it’s also very noisy and we have to talk loud to be heard over the traffic. We sell mobile phones and help people with their network issues or sim card problems. The shop has bright lights inside so it looks very different from the dusty street outside. We have a couple of guys who work the counter and they are usually busy explaining data plans to older folks or showing the latest features on a new model. Neelam Bata Road is where everyone goes for shopping so we get a lot of walk-in traffic. We keep a small fridge in the back for cold water because the heat out there is no joke. The floor is tiled but it gets dirty fast with everyone coming in from the sidewalk. We try to keep things moving fast so people don't get frustrated waiting. It’s a high energy environment and by the time we close up at night we are pretty tired. We’ve been here for a good while and have seen many other shops come and go on this stretch. It is a bit hectic but we enjoy meeting different people and helping them stay connected with their friends and their families.
