Jasleen Caterers Cum Wedding Arrangers

We are tucked away on Railway Road at H 5/54. If you know this part of the area, you know it gets a bit chaotic when the trains are running frequently. Jasleen Caterers Cum Wedding Arrangers started because we just liked feeding people at the local functions. Now we spend half our lives looking at huge metal pots and trying to figure out if the marigolds will arrive on time. The kitchen is always a bit hot, especially during the summer months when three or four weddings happen in one week. My cousin helps with the arrangements, though he usually spends more time talking to the vegetable vendors than actually checking the flower counts. We have this old table in the back where we sit and drink chai while going over the lists for the next day. It’s not a fancy office or anything like that. Just some chairs, a lot of notebooks with scribbled phone numbers, and a phone that never stops ringing when someone forgets to bring the extra napkins. Some days the delivery truck gets stuck in the narrow lane near the station, and we have to carry things by hand. It’s hard work, but we are used to it by now. We just try to get the food out and make sure the chairs are lined up straight enough for the guests. People know where to find us if the gate is open and the stoves are lit.
