Jain Engineering Works

Jain Engineering Works is located at Plot No. 14/4 on Mathura Road. If you know this road, you know how the traffic is always moving and the noise never really stops. We have been here in this spot for years working on different mechanical parts and engineering jobs. The workshop is full of lathes and drills that have been with us for a long time. Everything in here has a thin layer of oil on it, including our clothes by the time lunch rolls around. We do not wear suits or have a polished lobby for people to wait in. Usually, customers just walk right into the shop area and find us at the machines. It is hot in the summer because the metal roof holds the heat, so we keep a couple of big fans running all day long. Sometimes the measurements are tricky and we have to redo a piece of work two or three times to get it right. We don't mind because that is just the nature of working with steel. We get our supplies from the trucks that struggle to pull over on this busy road. We spend our evenings cleaning up the grease and organizing the tools for the next morning. It is steady work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday without much of a break. We just focus on the machines and the metal. (249 words)
