We are set up on Parvesh Marg, right along Railway Road in the Friends Colony area. Being so close to the tracks means we hear the trains rattling by all the time, but we don't even notice it much anymore. Our shop is a place where we do a lot of heavy lifting and metalwork. We have welding equipment, grinders, and cutting tools that stay busy for most of the day. It is a gritty, dusty environment, and we usually end up covered in soot or metal filings by the time we close up. We handle all sorts of fabrication jobs, from making simple window grills to more complex steel frames for local builders. People often just come by with a rough sketch on a piece of paper, and we talk through how to build it. It is just me and a small group of workers who know their way around a welding torch. We don't have a fancy office or a showroom. If you want to see what we do, you just look at the projects currently sitting on the shop floor. We try to be fair with our timing, but sometimes the materials don't arrive when they should, or a job turns out to be trickier than we thought. We don't make any big promises, we just do our best to build things that are solid and will last. It is a hard day's work, but it feels good to see something finished and ready to be installed.
