Our place is located near the railway crossing in Lakkarpur. If you know the Shiv Durga Vihar area, you probably know exactly where we are. We deal with embroidery work and fabric collections here at Eastern Embroidery. It involves a lot of sitting and focusing on the tiny details of the cloth. The machines we use make quite a bit of noise throughout the day, so it is never really quiet in here. We started this because there was a need for some decent needlework around Faridabad. It is not a big corporate office or anything, just H1 145 where we keep all the different threads and various types of cloth. Some days are much slower than others. We have a few local ladies who come in to help out when the orders get a bit heavy for us to handle alone. It gets pretty cramped in the back room with all the boxes piled up, but we make it work somehow. The light isn't always great in the late afternoons, so we have to use extra lamps to see the stitches properly. We aren't trying to change the whole industry. We just want to make sure the patterns look okay and the stitching holds up well for the customers. Usually, someone is always around if you drop by during the day. The area around the railway crossing is always a bit hectic and loud, so we just stay inside and work until it is time to go home.
