Bikanar Sweets

You can find Bikanar Sweets over in Malviya Nagar at Khirki Village 69. It’s a bit of an old-fashioned setup we have here. Khirki Village is full of narrow lanes and a lot of history, and our shop fits right into that atmosphere. We don't have a shiny modern storefront with bright neon lights. It’s mostly just us, our big metal vats, and the smell of things being fried or boiled in sugar. We start very early in the morning when most people are still asleep to get the first batches ready. By the time the sun is up, we usually have the counters filled. It gets quite cramped in here during the festive seasons, but we manage. We don’t use any corporate talk or fancy words to describe what we do. We just make sweets and snacks the way we’ve always done it. Sometimes the floor gets a bit sticky or the queue gets a little messy, but that’s part of the charm of a village shop. The people in Malviya Nagar know where we are, and we don't feel the need to advertise much. We just focus on getting the work done every day. It’s a lot of standing and a lot of heat from the stoves, but we’re used to it by now. We’ve been at number 69 for a long time, and we plan to stay right here.
