Bhajan Lal Halwai

Bhajan Lal Halwai is located at the end of the 60 Ft Road in Parvatiya Colony, right where the 30 Ft Road mode starts. It is a busy corner in Faridabad City and there is always a lot of dust and movement outside from the local traffic. We start our work very early in the morning when the air is still a bit cool and the streets are quiet. The big metal vats are filled with milk and sugar and we spend hours stirring them with long wooden paddles that are heavy to hold. You can feel the heat coming off the stoves all day long, which makes the shop very warm. The floor gets a bit greasy sometimes from the cooking, so we have to throw down some water or mop it frequently. People from Parvatiya Colony stop by on their cycles or while they are walking their kids to school in the morning. We have some wooden benches that have seen better days but they still hold up for anyone who wants to sit. The shelves are lined with various containers and metal trays. Sometimes the 60 Ft Road gets blocked with trucks and we just watch the traffic jam from the front of the shop. We don't have a lot of staff, just a few of us who know how to handle the heavy pots and the hot oil. The address is quite specific but most locals just know the intersection. It is a lot of standing.
