You can find us at 1070 Type Vi in the Nh Iv Nit area of Faridabad, Haryana 121001. Even though the name links back to the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation in Germany, we are here on the ground in Faridabad. It is an interesting mix of ideas. We spend our time looking at design, architecture, and how things are built. The office here is pretty basic. We have shelves full of books and drawings that we go through. It is not a museum, but sometimes it feels a bit like one when we are sorting through old documents or planning out how to talk about design history. We get people asking why we are in this specific part of Haryana, and we just tell them this is where the space was available. We deal with a lot of correspondence and try to keep the legacy of the Bauhaus style alive in a practical way. It’s not always about making things look pretty. It’s about how they function and why they were made that way in the first place. We have a small staff, and we all pitch in with the daily chores, like answering the mail or organizing the archives. It is quiet work most of the time. We don't have big events every week. We just keep the foundation running and help out whoever comes in with questions about the work we do. It’s a bit out of the way, but we like it here and the work keeps us plenty busy throughout the week.
