Bapu Dham Marble House is one of those places you’ll find if you spend any time wandering through the Sector-21C Marble Market. Our spot is Dss-109. It’s a bit of a tight fit with all the slabs we try to keep on hand. You have to be careful walking through the aisles because there’s always something being moved or loaded onto a truck. The market has its own rhythm, usually starting early when the first deliveries arrive. We’ve been here long enough that we know most of the other shop owners around us. It’s a competitive place, but we just focus on what’s sitting in our own yard. We get all sorts of people coming through, some who know exactly what they’re looking for and others who are just overwhelmed by all the choices. We try to help out where we can, explaining why one piece of marble costs more than the other based on where it came from or how it was cut. There isn’t much mystery to it. It’s just stone, at the end of the day. We spend a lot of time washing the slabs down with water so the colors actually show up through the grime. It’s messy work, and our boots are always wet, but that’s just part of the job. We keep things simple and just try to stay on top of the orders. There is no point in complicating things.
