Architect H.D. Deswal

Architect H.D. Deswal is a small operation located at 1D/29 in the N I T area of Faridabad. This part of the city has its own pace, and we’ve settled into it quite well. The office is a modest space where we handle all our architectural tasks. We don't have any big corporate slogans or a marketing department. It’s just us, some drafting tools, and a lot of patience. 1D/29 isn't hard to find, but it’s tucked away enough that it stays relatively quiet for us to focus. We spend a lot of time looking at maps and structural details. The N I T area is a place we know inside and out, which helps when we’re trying to figure out local building quirks. Most of our days are spent going back and forth between the drawing board and the computer. There’s usually a radio playing softly in the background to keep things from being too silent. We’re not looking to become some massive firm with hundreds of employees. We like being small because it means we know exactly what’s happening with every single drawing that leaves this office. If you come by, you might find H.D. Deswal himself sitting at the main desk, probably covered in some kind of ink or graphite. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s a good one. We just take things one day at a time and keep our heads down. The light from the window is perfect for drawing in the mornings.
