A And A Exports

The gate at the Industrial Estate usually sticks in the morning when I try to open it. It’s been that way for a couple of years now and nobody really bothers fixing it. Here at A And A Exports, we spend most of the day surrounded by the hum of the nearby units. It gets pretty loud around noon. My desk is right by the window where I can see the trucks backing in. Sometimes they block the whole road and everyone starts honking. We’ve been in this spot for a while. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but the work keeps us too busy to think about it. Most of us have worked together for ages, so we know who takes their tea with extra sugar and who prefers it black. The shipments come and go through the loading bay at the back. It’s a bit dusty because of all the construction happening down the street, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. We handle a lot of paperwork every day. Sometimes the internet goes slow and we just sit around talking about the weather or what’s for lunch. It’s not a fancy office with glass walls or anything like that. It’s just a place where we get the job done. The fans on the ceiling wobble a bit when they are on high speed, making a rhythmic clicking sound that you eventually stop hearing. We just keep moving things along.
