If you find the Telephone building, you’ve basically found us. We’re right there in front of it, near the Rain Tiraha junction. It’s a busy spot, especially in the mornings when everyone is rushing to get to work. Being a family business, Dhapley Maharaj And Sons has a lot of history packed into these walls. My father and my brothers are usually around, arguing about where to put the new stock or who forgot to lock the gate. We’ve grown up in this neighborhood, so we know most of the people walking by. The shop isn’t very big, but we make use of every inch of space. We’ve got stuff piled up almost to the ceiling sometimes. It’s a bit of a maze, but we know where everything is. We don’t really do much advertising because people just know we’re here by the Tiraha. We deal with all sorts of building supplies and it’s always a bit chaotic when a big order comes in. We try to keep things honest and straightforward. No fancy talk, just telling people what we have and what it costs. Sometimes we close early if there’s a festival or a family event, but usually, we’re here from dawn till dusk. The rain can be a problem at the Tiraha, hence the name I suppose, so we’re always checking the roof for leaks. It’s just how we live and work every day.
