Sri Padmapriyanka School Of Tailoring

My tailoring school is located on Dr Venkatraman Street in the south part of Gobichettipalayam. I started this place because I wanted to teach people how to sew properly. We have several sewing machines set up in the room. It’s a bit noisy when everyone is working at the same time, but it’s a good kind of noise. Students come here from all around the area to learn basic stitching and how to cut fabric for blouses or dresses. We spend a lot of time on the details. Some people find it hard at first, but they get the hang of it after a few weeks of practice. The shop is at number 41/16. It is easy to spot if you are walking down the street. I usually sit near the front to help anyone who walks in. We go through a lot of thread and needles every month. It’s not a big corporation or anything like that. Just a small place where skills are passed down. Sometimes we sit and have tea while talking about different patterns. People bring their own cloth to practice on. I try to show them how not to waste any material. The lighting could be better on cloudy days but we make it work. It is a steady life here in Gobi.
