If you head down Paramathi Road in Paramathi Velur, you’ll find our workshop. It’s not much to look at from the outside, just a building with some heavy equipment and a lot of metal lying around. We spend most of our days working with our hands, fixing whatever comes through the door. It might be a part for a tractor or some piece of machinery that a local farmer needs repaired quickly. The floor is usually covered in oil and metal shavings, and there’s always the sound of grinding or welding going on. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, especially when the sun hits the roof, but we just keep the fans going and carry on. We don't have a big team, just a few guys who know their way around a lathe and a welding torch. Most of us learned the trade by just doing it for years. We don’t bother with fancy signs because most people around here already know where we are. If someone has a problem with their equipment, they just bring it over and we see what we can do. Sometimes we have to wait a few days for parts to arrive from the bigger cities, which can be a bit frustrating for the customers, but that’s just the way it works out here. We’re just a local engineering shop trying to do honest work. We've got a small radio that plays in the background, mostly just for some noise while we work.
