You can find us at R-12 in the SIPCOT Industrial Growth Centre out in Perundurai. It’s a big area with lots of factories just like ours. Being in an industrial zone means there’s always a lot of activity. We have a fair amount of space here, which is good because we handle a lot of material. The building is concrete and practical. We don't have any flowers or nice paintings on the walls. It’s a place for work. Most of us have been in the garment trade for years, so we know the routine. We start early in the morning before the sun gets too hot. The fans help, but it’s still a warm place to work. Shivasakthi Fashions Private Limited is where we spend most of our daylight hours. We focus on getting the stitching straight and making sure the labels are on right. It’s not very exciting to talk about, but it’s what we do. We don’t have a big corporate culture or anything. We just talk about our families and the local news while we work. The trucks come by in the afternoon to pick up whatever we’ve finished. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just wait it out. It’s just a normal job in a normal factory. We aren't trying to be anything we’re not. We just make clothes in Perundurai and try to do it well.
