S. K. Technologies

S. K. Technologies is located at 42/2 on Bhavani Main Road. We are right by the Kamala Vijay School, so we hear the school bell ring every day and the kids playing at recess. It’s a good spot to be because there’s always people passing by on their way to work or home. We started out as a small repair shop for televisions and radios, but now we do all sorts of electronics including phones and small appliances. The shop is small and full of tools, soldering irons, and bits of wire. My father started it and I took over after I finished my schooling. We don't have a fancy showroom with glass cases. Everything we have is either on the workbench being fixed or sitting on the shelf waiting for its owner to come back. We spend a lot of time squinting at circuit boards and trying to find why a tiny connection failed. It’s tedious work sometimes, but it’s really satisfying when something finally turns back on. We don't make big promises to everyone; we just tell you if we can fix it and how much the parts will cost. The students from the school often peer in through the window on their way home in the afternoons. It’s a friendly part of town and we’ve been part of it for a long time. We just keep our heads down and work.
