A.K. Engineers& Contractors is run out of B/35 in the Telecom Staff Quarters in Erode. It’s a bit of a different setup since we are located within the quarters here in Tamil Nadu. The 638002 area is fairly quiet, which is a nice change from the main market areas. Our office is basically just a couple of rooms where we keep all our contracting paperwork and blueprints. We spend a lot of time out on various sites, so the office is mostly for when we need to sit down and do the math or talk to the guys. It’s got a very lived-in feel, with tea stains on the tables and piles of files that probably need filing. We don’t have a big corporate sign or anything like that. People usually just find us by the door number. The weather in Erode can be quite humid, so we keep the windows open to catch whatever breeze we can. It’s a very local operation. We know the other people living in the quarters and we try not to make too much noise. Our work is practical and we don't spend money on fancy things we don't need. It’s just us, some calculators, and a lot of planning for the next project. We've been doing this for years and it’s just the way we like it. Simple and direct.
