Lacuna Exports Llp

Our place is called Melakath House, and it is located at 82/3 in Memmattupara. It’s part of the Kannamangalam post area. We don’t work out of a big industrial park or a tall glass building. We are based right here in the house, which makes it a bit different from other export businesses. We have set up some space to handle the goods we send out. It’s a lot of manual work, packing things up and getting them ready for the trucks that come down the narrow roads. The area is quite green and quiet, which is nice until you have to move a large shipment. We have to be careful about the weather because rain can make the yard a mess. We handle various exports, mostly things we can source locally or from nearby markets. It started small and we just kept going with it. Most of the people working here are from the village, so it feels more like a community effort than a company. We don't have any big marketing plans; we just rely on the contacts we have made over the years. Some days are slow and we just sit on the porch and talk, but when a deadline comes, we are all moving fast. It is a simple way of doing business, rooted right here in Memmattupara where we live.
