K V Spices

K V Spices is located in the Kolenchery Building at number 487 on Malayattoor Road. We are right here in Kalady, Ernakulam, which is a place known for its history and busy streets. As soon as you walk near our door, you can usually smell the pepper, cardamom, and ginger. It’s a very strong scent that stays with you all day. We spend a lot of time weighing out bags and sealing them up for customers. The shop is quite traditional; we have big sacks of spices sitting on the floor and smaller jars on the shelves. It’s not a modern supermarket style at all. We deal with local farmers and suppliers to get what we need, and sometimes the quality varies, so we have to be careful. My family has been doing this kind of thing for a long time, so it’s just what we know. The traffic on Malayattoor Road can be quite loud with all the buses and cars going past, but inside, we just focus on the scales and the customers. We get a mix of local housewives and people traveling through who want to take some fresh spices home. We don’t have a website or a big staff; it’s just us handling the daily chores of running a spice shop. It’s a lot of dust and sneezing sometimes, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. We just keep our heads down and make sure the jars are always full.
