Joel Time Industries

Joel Time Industries is located at 62/607 on Spices Street in Kaloor. The name of the building is actually just Joel, so it’s easy to spot if you’re looking for the right number. Spices Street has its own character, and we’ve been part of it for a good number of years. We work on various timepieces and components here. It’s not a huge operation, just a handful of us making sure things are running right. The workshop area is tucked away in the back where it’s a bit quieter. In the front, we handle the day-to-day business and talk to people who come in. We don’t have any of those modern glass partitions or minimalist furniture. It’s mostly just old wooden desks and cabinets filled with tools and spare parts. The street outside can get quite noisy with all the trade going on, but inside we just focus on the task at hand. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait for the backup to kick in, which gives us a chance to sit on the step and watch the traffic go by. We don’t spend much on advertising or making things look pretty for photos. We just do the work and hope people are satisfied with what they get. Kaloor is a busy place, but once you step into our shop, it feels a bit slower, like we’re working at a different pace than the rest of the world.
