Bird Guide India operates out of Pappalil House in Malipara. It’s not a typical office building; it’s a house, which makes the whole thing feel a bit more personal. We spend a lot of our time out in the field because that’s where the birds are, but this is our home base. We know Malipara and the surrounding areas like the back of our hands. If someone wants to see a specific kind of bird, we usually know exactly which tree or field to go to. We’ve been doing this for a long time, and it’s more of a way of life than just a job for us. We don't have fancy brochures or a big sales team. It’s usually just a phone call or someone stopping by the house to ask about a tour. We keep our gear ready and our binoculars clean. Sometimes we are up before the sun to get to the best spots. It’s a quiet business, mostly just us and the sounds of the woods. People who find us are usually looking for a real experience in nature, not something packaged and polished. We just tell it like it is and show them what we find. Malipara is a good place for this kind of work because it’s still fairly natural. We don’t overcomplicate things. We just head out, see what’s flying, and come back to Pappalil House when the day is done for some rest.
