Our office, ARCHIUM EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR PRIVATE LIMITED, is down near Valiyavalappuvadakara Beach. The building is called AL-HILAL, and we are at number 44/295. Being so close to the Kozhikode coastline is great for the view, but the salt in the air means we have to be careful about the materials we use for our projects. We handle both the outside and inside parts of buildings. It is a small operation we started because we enjoy the process of seeing a house change from start to finish. It is not always easy or pretty work. Some days we are just stuck at a desk trying to figure out why a wall isn't lining up right on the drawings. We work with a handful of local guys who know the building trade well. Most of our time is spent moving between the office and different sites around Kozhikode. We don't have a fancy reception desk or anyone to answer the phones for us. If the phone rings, one of us just wipes our hands and picks it up. We talk to our neighbors and friends about their homes and often end up helping them with their own renovations. It is a very local way of doing business. We don't use any of that marketing talk. We just fix what needs fixing and try to make the place look decent. After a long day, we usually walk down to the beach to relax. It’s a simple life.
