The place we work from is at H. N -83 in Refuzee Colony, which is part of the Sakchi area here in Jamshedpur. It’s more of a residential neighborhood, so it stays a bit quieter than the main market streets. Map Indesign Pvt Ltd has been operating out of this house for a while now. We’ve converted the front part into our workspace where we handle all the mapping and design projects that come our way. It feels more like a home than a stiff office, which we actually prefer. We have a few computers set up and a large table for reviewing big printed maps. Most of our work involves technical drawings and planning for various local developments. We see a lot of neighbors walking by, and sometimes people just drop in to say hello or ask a quick question about a plot of land. It’s a very laid-back environment, but we take the technical side of our work seriously. Jamshedpur has a lot of specific zoning and land rules, so we spend a good chunk of time making sure everything is accurate. We aren't a huge company with hundreds of employees, just a dedicated group of locals who know our way around a site map. It’s a steady job and we like the pace of working in Sakchi. We usually wrap things up by six unless there's something urgent that needs finishing for a client who is in a hurry.
