Palash Play School

We have been here near Bal Vihar in Sonari for quite a while now. It is just a small place for kids to come during the morning while their parents are busy with work or chores. If you walk by Palash Play School, you can usually hear the sound of children singing rhymes or just shouting while they play with the plastic blocks we have. The rooms are painted with some bright colors, though the paint is peeling a bit near the bottom where the kids kick the walls. We have a few mats on the floor and some small chairs that are always being moved around. It is not very fancy, just a few rooms and a small area for them to run a bit. Our staff mostly spends the day making sure no one trips over the toys or cries too much. We keep some snacks in the cupboard and there is a lot of hand washing going on. Sometimes the kids get messy with the crayons, but that is just part of how it goes here. Most of the families live right around the corner in Sonari, so we see the same faces every day. It gets pretty loud around ten in the morning, then things quiet down for a bit when they have their break. We try to keep things organized but with twenty toddlers in one space, it usually ends up looking like a bit of a mess by noon.
