Working out of Telco Colony in Jamshedpur has its own specific rhythm. Our Larsen & Toubro office is at N-144/12, which is a pretty standard address for this part of town. This area is very much tied to the industrial history of the city. You can really feel that when you walk around the neighborhood. Our office is a simple place where we manage our daily schedules and keep track of everything happening at the various sites nearby. It’s not really a place for fancy meetings. We usually have work boots by the door and helmets sitting on the racks. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re usually way too busy to worry about that kind of thing. The neighborhood is fairly quiet, mostly people who work for the various plants nearby. We’ve become part of the daily routine here. The local shops know our faces by now. Jamshedpur is a city that never really stops, and we try to keep up with that pace from our little corner. Sometimes we stay late when a project is hitting a big deadline, and you’ll see the lights on from the street late at night. We don't have a lot of administrative staff, so whoever is closest to the phone usually just answers it. It’s a very hands-on environment.
