Nagbeli Hotel Resort

Up here in Uttarey, West Sikkim, things move a bit slower than in the cities. That is where you will find Nagbeli Hotel Resort. We are located right in the heart of this small village. It gets quite cold in the winters, so we spend a lot of time making sure the heaters work and there are enough blankets for everyone. Being in West Sikkim means we have to deal with mountain roads and changing weather all the time. Our staff is mostly local people from Uttarey who know these hills. We don't have a professional marketing person writing for us. This is just how we talk. We focus on keeping the kitchen stocked and the rooms clean. Sometimes the electricity goes out because of the weather, and we have to manage with what we have. It’s a simple hotel, nothing too over the top. People come to Uttarey for the views and the quiet, so we try to keep the place peaceful. We spend our days cleaning the dining area and checking on the guests. It’s a lot of walking up and down stairs and making sure everything is in order. We’ve been part of this community for a while now. If you make it up to this part of Sikkim, you’ll see our building standing there. We keep the tea hot and the front door unlocked during the day for anyone who drops by for a stay.
