Hotel Tashi Delek

If you walk down Mahatma Gandhi Marg, you’ll eventually run into us at Hotel Tashi Delek. We are right in the middle of the action here in the 737101 area. Running a hotel on such a busy street means there is never a dull moment. We spend a lot of time sweeping the front steps because of all the foot traffic outside. The staff here has been with us for years, and we mostly just treat each other like family. Some days are quieter than others, especially when the weather turns cold, but we keep the lights on and the tea ready. People come here from all over, some just for a night and others for a week. We don't use any big systems to manage things; we just write names down in our ledger and show people to their rooms. The building is older, so it has its quirks, like a squeaky floorboard here and there, but we think it adds some character. Living and working on MG Marg means we know all the local shopkeepers nearby. We often trade stories with the neighbors over the fence while we're hanging up laundry or taking a quick break. It’s a simple life, but we like being part of the community here. Most guests just want a roof over their heads and a friendly face when they arrive, and that’s what we provide every day.
