Munchies Shillong

Rani Villa has been our home for Munchies for a good bit of time now. We are right on the Laitumukhrah Main Road here in Shillong. If you know the area, you know we are pretty close to Don Bosco Square, so there are always students walking past or stopping in between their classes. The weather in Shillong can be a bit unpredictable, so we spend a lot of time watching the rain from the windows while we work. It’s a cozy kind of place, not too big, which makes it easier for us to keep an eye on everything. We handle the cooking and the serving ourselves for the most part. It’s a simple setup really. We don't have any big marketing plans or anything like that. People mostly find out about us just by walking past or hearing from a friend. We spend our mornings getting the ingredients ready and making sure the place is tidy before the first person walks in. It’s a lot of work keeping a small business going in this part of town, but we enjoy the rhythm of it. The main road is always busy, but inside here, it feels a bit different. We just serve what we know how to make well. There isn't any secret to it, just staying consistent and being here every day for whoever needs a bite to eat while they are out.
