Our spot is up in Upper Lachumiere, which is one of those parts of Shillong where you’re always walking up or down a hill. We are located right where Angels Play School is. It’s a bit of an interesting mix having the older students and the little ones in the same general area, but we make it work. The weather up here in Shillong is usually cool, which is nice, but the rain can really settle in for days. When that happens, the hallways get that damp smell and everyone is carrying umbrellas that drip all over the place. We’ve got the college sections and the school parts divided up so the older kids have space to study while the younger ones are busy making noise. The building has been around for a while and has that solid feel to it. You can see the rooftops of other houses stretching down the slope from our windows. Mornings are busy with taxis dropping people off at the gate, and the air is usually crisp. We don't have a lot of fancy landscaping, just the stone walls and the paved areas where students hang out between their classes. It’s a practical place. We focus on getting through the lessons and making sure the exams are handled properly. Sometimes the power goes out when there’s a storm, and we just have to open the windows wider to get some natural light in.
