Rock Salt

If you find yourself driving down Rajanagaram Road in the Komaripalem area, you will likely see our place. We are at 9-6-851, which is a bit of a specific number to remember, but once you are on that road, it is easy to spot. Rock Salt is the name we go by. It is mostly just about moving salt from one place to another. We have stacks of it in the back and it can get quite heavy. The air smells a bit like the sea sometimes, or maybe that is just the salt talking. Komaripalem is a busy enough place during the day. People are always moving things along Rajanagaram Road, and we are right in the middle of that flow. We open up the doors in the morning and see who needs what. It is mostly local trade and people who have known about this spot for years. We don’t really do much in terms of decorating. The walls are just walls and the floor is usually covered in a thin layer of salt dust that we sweep up at the end of the day. It is hard work, but it keeps us busy. Sometimes the rain makes things difficult because you have to keep everything dry, but we manage. We just stay here at 9-6-851 and do our job. There is no big mystery to it. Just salt and a lot of lifting and moving things around until the day is done.
