Asst Engineer

I’m the Asst Engineer here in the Kakinada Mandal area of East Godavari. Specifically, I’m located in Penumarthi village, and you can find me through the 3. A.P.S.P post office. I’m the son of Chitti Babu, and many people in the village know my family. Working as an engineer in a rural mandal like this is quite different from being in a big city. The office is very basic, often just a shared space where we keep our registers and maps. There’s a lot of movement here, with people coming in from the surrounding fields and villages to talk about various projects. It can get quite loud and busy during the middle of the day. We don’t have any fancy air conditioning, just a couple of fans that try their best against the East Godavari heat. My work involves a lot of site visits to check on progress, but the paperwork always brings me back to the desk. It’s a lot of responsibility to make sure things are done right, especially when everyone in the village knows who you are and where you come from. We don’t use any corporate jargon or have big missions. We just want to make sure the work is solid and the records are kept straight for everyone. It’s a practical, everyday sort of existence. Life in Penumarthi village is slow but steady, and we just keep doing our bit for the local area as best as we can.
