R & M Engineers

Working at R & M Engineers down here in Ongc Odalaru keeps us busy most days of the week. Being near the post office in Amalapuram within the East Godavari district means we deal with a lot of heat and humidity while we are out on the shop floor. It is a noisy place with the machines running and people calling out to each other over the clatter. We have been in this spot for a bit now. The yard is usually full of bits of metal and various tools that need to be put away at the end of the shift. Sometimes the dust from the road gets into everything, no matter how much we try to sweep it out. We are not a big corporate firm with people in suits. Most of us are covered in grease by noon. People come to us when something breaks or they need a specific part fixed. We just look at the problem and see what can be done with the equipment we have. It is straightforward work. The office is small and usually has a stack of papers on the desk that never seems to get any shorter. We drink a lot of coffee to keep ourselves going throughout the day. The walk from the main part of Amalapuram is not too bad if the weather is nice. We mostly focus on getting the job done so we can go home. There is always something to weld or a bolt to tighten. It is just us doing our engineering work.
