Woodpint Exhibitions

Being on the second floor of the JD Building makes things interesting when we have to move materials. C-90 is where we spend most of our waking hours. If you come by Woodpint Exhibitions, you’ll likely hear the sound of someone hammering or the constant hum of the printer before you even open the door. It’s a bit cramped with all the wood samples and fabric swatches piled up in the corners. We try to keep things organized but when three projects are happening at once, stuff just ends up wherever there is floor space. The stairs are narrow, so we’ve gotten pretty good at maneuvering long poles and flat panels without scratching the walls too much. It’s mostly just hard work and a lot of measuring twice so we don’t have to cut twice. We aren't big on meetings or fancy presentations. Usually, we just stand around a sketch and figure out how to make it stand up straight. Sometimes the heat in the building gets to us, but we just open the windows and keep going. It’s a practical kind of place. We eat lunch at our desks most days because there’s always a deadline looming for some trade fair or another. It’s just us, some tools, and a lot of coffee making sure everything gets built the way it was drawn on the paper. There is always a layer of dust on the computer screens by the end of the week.
