R.G. General Store

Our little shop, R.G. General Store, is located on Plot No. P-103 in Mayur Vihar Phase 1. It’s right in the middle of Pandav Nagar, so we get a lot of neighbors stopping by throughout the day. We open up early, usually before the sun is fully up, to get the milk crates inside and put out the newspapers. It’s a small space, so we have to be careful about how we stack the boxes. Sometimes it feels like there isn't enough room for everything, but we manage. You’ll find all sorts of stuff on our shelves, from soap to snacks and pens. We spend a lot of time chatting with the regulars who come in every morning. They tell us about their kids or the news while we bag their bread. It’s a quiet kind of life, mostly. Sometimes the doorbell rings every few minutes and other times it’s completely silent for an hour. We have a small stool behind the counter where we sit when things are slow. The street outside can get pretty busy with scooters and cars, especially in the evenings when everyone is coming home from work. We know which families like which brands, so we try to keep their favorites in stock. It’s not a big supermarket, just a local store where we know people’s names and what they usually need. It’s a bit cramped and old-fashioned, but it’s our place and we like it here in Pandav Nagar.
