Mother Dairy

Our Mother Dairy booth is located at site number 739 in Mayur Vihar Extension Phase 1. It’s a small, functional space that serves the whole block. We get here before dawn to receive the morning milk crates. It’s cold in the winters and very humid in the summers, but we are always open. The routine is the same every day. We check the stock, clean the counters, and wait for the first customers. Most people come for their milk and curd, but we also have butter and cheese. The children in Phase 1 especially like the ice cream bars we keep in the freezer. Sometimes the token machine jams up, and we have to do the math by hand, which can slow things down when there’s a line. We know the names of many people who live in the nearby flats because they’ve been coming here for a decade. The booth itself is just a basic structure, nothing fancy or modern. We have a small stool inside where we sit when there are no customers. The pavement outside gets a bit muddy when it rains, so we try to sweep it out often. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that; we just make sure there’s milk for everyone's breakfast. It’s a quiet, steady job. We don’t need to do any promotion because everyone knows where we are. It’s just a staple of life in this part of Mayur Vihar.
