New Haryana Dairy & Sweets

Our shop, New Haryana Dairy & Sweets, is at 29/10 in Rashid Market, over in the New Govind Pura area of Preet Vihar. The day starts really early for us, usually while most of the neighborhood is still asleep. That is when the milk deliveries come in and we have to start processing everything. We keep the big refrigerators running all night to make sure the dahi and paneer stay fresh. Rashid Market is a crowded place with narrow lanes, so getting things in and out can be a bit of a struggle sometimes. We serve a lot of the local households who come in every morning for their daily milk or a bit of curd for lunch. The sweet side of the business keeps us busy in the afternoons when we start frying things up. It smells like cardamom and ghee in here most of the time. We don't have any fancy marketing or a big office, just the counter and the kitchen in the back. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are too busy serving customers to worry about that. People know us as the local dairy where they can get reliable stuff without any fuss. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years, but our little corner in Preet Vihar stays pretty much the same. It is just us working hard every day to keep the containers full. We stay open until the last of the milk is sold.
