Kanika General Store

Kanika General Store is our small family business located at E-4/10 in Krishna Nagar. It’s a quiet corner compared to the big shopping centers. We mostly sell the basic stuff that families living nearby need for their homes. Things like washing powder, tea leaves, and snacks for the kids when they get out of school. I started this shop because I wanted to work for myself and stay close to my neighborhood. The walls are a bit plain and could use some new paint, but they have a lot of history. Most of my day is spent behind the counter, talking to the regulars who stop by. It isn't just about selling a loaf of bread; it's about being part of the street. Sometimes a stray cat comes and naps near the entrance. I don't really mind as long as she stays out of the way. Krishna Nagar is a good place with good people. We don't do anything special here. If you need a new lightbulb or some cooking oil, we probably have it on one of the shelves. The items we keep change a bit depending on what the wholesaler has in stock that week. Some afternoons are very slow and I just sit and read the local news. Other times, everyone comes in at once and I get a bit frazzled trying to count the change. That is just the life of a shopkeeper at E-4/10.
