Our place, Jet Electro Mech Engineering Pvt Ltd, is over in the Patparganj Main Market at number 146. It’s an interesting spot because the market has a bit of everything. We aren't a retail shop where people just browse. Mostly, we deal with mechanical and electrical bits that most people wouldn't even recognize. The workshop can get pretty loud with the sound of tools and machines running. We spend a lot of time looking at drawings and checking measurements. It’s precise work, so you can't really rush it even when there's a lot to do. The guys here have been doing this for years, so we have a rhythm. Patparganj is quite crowded, and getting parts delivered to the market can be a bit of a struggle sometimes with the narrow lanes. We drink a lot of chai during our breaks and talk about the jobs we’re working on. It’s not a fancy environment. There are grease marks on the tables and the smell of metal in the air. We keep our tools organized as best as we can, but it’s a working engineering site, so things move around. We don't have a big reception area or anything like that. If you come by 146, you’ll just see us working. We like it that way. It’s honest work and keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down.
