Flavours Ice Cream Parlour

If you ever walk through Central Market in Suraj Mal Vihar, you’ve probably seen us. We are at Shop B/3, right near where Keventers is. It is a small shop, but we fit a lot into it. There are several big freezers that hum all day long. They make a lot of noise, but after a few hours, you don't even notice it anymore. The market is always crowded, especially in the evenings when families come out for a walk. We see a lot of kids coming in after school or people stopping by for a quick treat after they finish their shopping for groceries. The shop gets pretty cramped when more than five people are inside at once. We spend a lot of time cleaning the glass and mopping the floor because things get sticky pretty fast with ice cream around. It is just a local parlour. We don't have fancy seating or anything. People usually just grab what they want and stand outside or walk around the market while they eat. Sometimes the power goes out in the area and we have to rush to make sure everything stays cold. That’s the most stressful part of the job. Most of the time, though, it’s just us scooping and chatting with the regulars who live around Suraj Mal Vihar. We’ve been here long enough that we know most of the faces that walk through the door. It is a simple business but it keeps us very busy every single day.
