Dev Mechnical Works

Our workshop is right on the Kailash Nagar Main Road in Gandhi Nagar. If you look for number 18172, that’s us. It’s a loud place, to be honest. At Dev Mechnical Works, there’s always the sound of metal hitting metal or a machine humming in the back. My clothes usually have a bit of grease on them by ten in the morning, and the floor is never really clean no matter how much we sweep. It’s just the nature of the work we do here. We have a few old lathes and some newer tools scattered around. Gandhi Nagar is always crowded, and the Main Road is even worse, so there is constant movement outside our door. People pop their heads in to ask questions while we are in the middle of a job. We don’t have a fancy office for meetings; we usually just talk right there on the shop floor. I keep a small diary to track the jobs, but mostly I remember what needs to be done. It’s a hands-on life. We handle a lot of different mechanical bits and pieces every day. Sometimes a part takes longer to fix than we thought, and we end up staying until the street lights are bright. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know how to do. There isn't much more to it than showing up, picking up the tools, and getting the machines running again. We take things one job at a time.
