Our place is in the basement of Tanja Hospital, located at Plot No F/15 in Preet Vihar. You have to walk down the stairs to find us. Being in a basement means it stays a bit cooler than the ground floor, which is nice during the summer months. It also makes it much quieter, which is important for the kind of work we do with hearing. We have a few small rooms that are partitioned off. The lighting is all artificial since there aren't any windows down here. We have some comfortable chairs for people to sit in while they wait. The walls are painted a simple white, and we have some equipment boxes stacked in the corner. Preet Vihar is a busy area, but once you come down the steps into the clinic, it feels like a different world. We spend a lot of time looking at screens and testing different devices. Sometimes the pipes in the ceiling make a little noise, but usually, it's very still. The staff mostly keeps to themselves, working quietly. We have a small kettle in the back to make tea in the afternoons. It isn't a flashy office with a big lobby. It’s just a functional space where we spend our working hours. Most of our visitors are older folks who have been told to come see us by the doctors upstairs in the main hospital building. We just do our job.
