Appeal Furnishing

We’ve been here at Jagat Puri Chowk for quite a few years now. The shop is Appeal Furnishing, located at number 4 right on the Main Road. It’s a busy spot with all the traffic passing by, but we like it. Most days it’s just me and a couple of the guys moving heavy rolls of fabric or helping a neighbor pick out some curtains. We don’t have a fancy showroom with bright lights, just the space we’ve always used for our work. People who come in usually live around here and they just want to fix up a room or get a sofa recovered. It gets pretty dusty with the window open, but that’s how it is on the Main Road. We try to keep things in some kind of order, though it’s hard when a new shipment of blinds or cushion covers shows up and we have to find space for it all. We spend a lot of time talking to the regulars who drop by just to see what’s new or to chat about the neighborhood. My desk is usually a mess of fabric swatches and handwritten notes. We do our own measuring and some of the fitting ourselves. It’s a lot of manual labor, carrying things up and down, but it keeps us busy through the day. We don’t bother with much advertising because the sign outside does its job. We open early and stay until the evening rush. It’s just a normal place.
