Amit Departmental Store

Amit Departmental Store is located in Mayur Vihar II right at Plot No-8 near the Vinani Hospital complex. Being in Pocket-B means we see a lot of the same people every single day. We open up early because people need their milk and bread before they head off to work or the hospital. The shop is a bit cramped because we try to fit everything from soap to snacks on the shelves. Sometimes it’s hard to find things if you aren't used to our system but we usually know exactly where the last packet of biscuits is hidden. The hospital being so close means we get a lot of visitors coming in for bottled water or juice. It can get a bit hectic in the evenings when everyone is coming home. We don't have a big staff just a couple of us who take turns behind the counter. The light inside is a bit dim and the floor tiles are cracked in a few places near the entrance. We have a small fridge for the cold drinks that hums quite loudly all day long. We don't do any fancy advertising or anything. We just sit here and wait for the bell on the door to ring. It’s a quiet life mostly except for the traffic on the main road. We keep a notebook for the regulars who pay at the end of the month for their daily items.
