Shri Venkteshvara Marbles

We’ve been running Shri Venkteshvara Marbles for a good number of years now. Our yard is tucked away in Panchsheel Nagar East, specifically G E Road Charoda in Bhilai 3. We are right beside Buddh Vihar, so it’s not too hard to find us if you’re looking. It’s mostly just me and a couple of guys working here every day. We spend most of our time moving heavy marble slabs around with the crane. It is dusty work and our clothes usually show it by the end of the shift. We have all kinds of marble piled up. Some of it is local and some comes from further away. People usually just wander in from the road to see what we have in stock. We don’t have a fancy showroom with lights or anything like that. It’s just a big open space with lots of stone. Sometimes we have to move ten slabs just to get to the one someone wants to see. It’s a bit of a mess sometimes, especially when a big delivery arrives and we haven't cleared space yet. We try to keep things simple. If you want stone, you come here and we show you what’s available. We handle the paperwork on a small wooden desk in the corner. It’s a quiet life, mostly just the sound of the saws cutting through stone. We like being part of the Bhilai community and seeing the houses go up.
