Malabar Agricultural Co. Ltd.

Down here at 332/5A on Perenai Road, things move a bit slower than in the city. We are part of the Nilakottai Taluk area, specifically in Musuvanuthu. The Malabar Agricultural Co. Ltd. has been around this patch of land for quite some time now. You can smell the earth and the plants as soon as you get off the main road and head toward our gate. Most of our day is spent looking at crops or dealing with the local weather which can be unpredictable. We have a small office, but nobody stays inside for very long. There is always something to check on outside in the fields. It is not a shiny corporate place. The floors have a bit of dirt on them from the boots, and the furniture is old but sturdy. We talk to the local farmers every day. They come by to discuss the soil or the seeds they are using. Sometimes we just sit under the shade of the trees when the afternoon heat gets too much to handle. It is quiet here, mostly just the sound of birds or a tractor in the distance. We don't use big fancy words to describe what we do. We just grow things and manage the land the best way we know how. It is a lot of physical work and sometimes our backs ache by evening. But that is just how agriculture life is for us.
