Hotel Kodai International

Our place is at 17/328 on Lawsghat Road. If you know this area, you know the roads can be a bit winding and steep. Hotel Kodai International has been standing here for quite some time, and we’ve seen plenty of heavy weather come through. It’s not always sunny; sometimes the mist rolls in and everything gets a bit damp. We spend a lot of time making sure the gardens don't get overgrown and the paths stay clear of leaves. Inside, the rooms are fairly large, but they show their age in a way that feels normal to us. We aren't trying to be a five-star luxury spot with gold faucets and fancy rugs. We’re just a local hotel where you can get a room without too much fuss. The staff is mostly people from around here who have been working the same shifts for a long time. We know which floorboards creak and which rooms have the better view of the trees. Every morning starts with a lot of tea and checking the registers. We don’t use fancy software for everything; a lot of it is still done the old-fashioned way on paper. It keeps us grounded. When the sun goes down, it gets quiet out here on Lawsghat Road, and we just settle in for the night. Sometimes we see monkeys in the trees near the back windows, which is always interesting.
