Rihat Bricks Industry

Out here in Bilbari village, we run Rihat Bricks Industry. We’re in the Karimgunj district, right near the Bilbari Masjid. It’s a quiet area mostly, except for the sounds of the brickyard. We have a lot of space out here to dry the bricks in the sun. It’s a family thing, really. My uncle started it and now we all help out with the digging and the firing. The kiln is always going during the season. We supply most of the local builders around the village and the nearby towns. It’s hard work and your clothes are always stained with red clay. We don't have a fancy office, just a small shed where we keep the books. People stop by after prayers at the masjid to talk about their building plans. We don't really have a set schedule; we’re just here when there’s work to be done. The road can be a bit rough getting here, especially after the rains, but we make it work. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in the world. We just want to make good bricks that don't fall apart. It’s simple, honest labor that we’ve been doing for years.
